26 Ways To Increase Your Motivation
by
Michael T. Bauer
What motivates people. People get motivated for a variety of reasons and sometimes we don't know what those reasons are. Sometimes it's the pain of an especially difficult experience such as a death in the family. It can also be the humbling experience of failing to accomplish a specific task or goal. But often times it is something very simple such as a
great movie or inspiring book that helps us get up and find the extra motivation to improve who we are and to fight to become something more. So, here are a few of my tips for remaining motivated and focused on your career and personal life.
A - Achieve your dreams. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Do you believe in the beauty of yours...well I certainly do believe in mine.
B - Be It! It is time for you to develop yourself, to sell yourself, and to BE what your are. So, Be It!
C – Capitalize on your determination and your ability to see situations in new
ways.
D – Dream BIG!!!!! You need to be willing to take some risk and be willing to fall down
occasionally to reach this dream. But don't' give up...and always dream big.
E – Elevate your game. Tiger Woods knows how this works. If you want to improve yourself and stay motivated you need to elevate your game. Maybe it's time for you to look for a coach...like he did.
F – Family – They will be there, so you need to be there too. A key
ingredient to spark motivation.
G – Good friends will always been available to give advice, to provide suggestion, but most of all to show you support when everything else is going wrong. Always know that your good friends will be there for you.
H – Help others. There is something very motivational in helping others improve their lives. Step up and become a force in your community.
I – Innovate. This really refers to being creative in all that you do. Look for different ways to accomplish things. Take up courses on art, music, literature.
J – Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself. And the key to failure is to try to please everyone.
K – keep trying no matter how hard life may seem. When a person is motivated, eventually he sees a harsh life finally clearing out, paving the way to self improvement.
L – LOVE...everyone needs to feel this and give this. Nothing more to be said.
M – Make things happen. Motivation is about putting your dreams into action.
N – Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game.
O – Open your eyes and see what is really there. Be amazed by what you see.
P – Passion. RE-create your passion. Find what you are passionate about and focus your energy on it. Lost some passion...re-create it.
Q – Quiet time. Some of the hardest time spent is in silence. Turn off your
Ipod, the television, the computer, and the phone and focus on yourself for 30 minutes.
R – Rejoice in all that is good in the world, recognize it, feel it, but most importantly have joy in your heart.
S – Stop procrastinating.
T – Take control of your life. You have choices to make and many of them have to do with motivation.
U – Understand others. Yearn to understand first, and to be understood second. Don't
let others get in your way because they hate to hear about success.
V – Visualize it. Use your quiet time to see your life the way you want it to be.
W – WOW! Leadership guru Tom Peters frequently talks about the WOW factor in your life. You have the WOW factor, now step up and show everyone.
X – X Factor is what makes you very special. Find it, embrace it, brag about it. It will help you focus on your goals and help you to become very successful.
Y – You are SPECIAL. There is only one of you and you need to move forward and show the world who you are.
Z – Zero in on your dreams and make them happen.
